Whitaker Acoustic Night
THE WHITAKER ACOUSTIC NIGHT
"My favourite part about the Acoustic Nights is that
you never know what you're going to get, it was Jasmine's first time and she
was absolutely fantastic. I love that it's open to anyone; Alyssa is 9 years
old and shocked everybody with her performance. It's an open mic night so
anybody can take part, it's also great that the talent in the Valley is
highlighted!"
On Wednesday the 7th of December, The Whitaker hosted it's
monthly Acoustic Night inviting people from all around the Valley to come and
showcase their incredible talents. The theme this month was Christmas and while
there were many festive hits, it didn't stop people from performing their owns
songs and genres.
For me, it was my first time attending the Acoustic Nights. Although that didn't stop me from feeling instantly welcomed and warm as soon as I entered. Before the show I went to the bar and was pleasantly overwhelmed by how much choice of drink was available, the bartender was lovely (as was my cheeky glass of Sauvignon) and treated people more as a friend than a customer.
After leaving the bar I made myself comfortable in the event room, it was a lot smaller than I thought it would be - however it was extremely cosy and added to the relaxed ambience.

As the show commenced I was amazed by the varied talent in
the Valley from people of all genders and ages. We had everything from Dave who
specialises on guitar, all the way down to his unbelievably cute granddaughter
Alyssa who played the ukulele and she was only aged 9! For me, my favourite
act of the night was a young lady named Jasmine. She wrote and played guitar to
her own songs, accompanied by her mesmerising voice her songs were
relatable and her humour was contagious. Obviously all of the acts were
fantastic and I was throughly surprised by how enjoyable the night was.
The Acoustic Night has been taking place on the first Wednesday of every month for over 2 years now and it definitely deserves more attention and support, so please give it a visit!
OVERALL, I PLAN TO KEEP THE FIRST WEDNESDAY OF EVERY MONTH
FREE, AS IT HAS QUICKLY BECOME ONE OF MY FAVOURITE EVENTS IN ROSSENDALE!
